Painting and creating with Mizuhiki strings
Strings gather to form a surface, the surface forms a shape, and a work of art is born.
Mizuhiki strings have been used for ceremonies and rituals since ancient times.
"RITUAL the crafts" melds the ceremonial, traditional dimension and the creative, individual dimension of Mizuhiki strings to create art.
We create innovative Mizuhiki work to explore the new possibilities of Mizuhiki strings.
The "RITUAL the crafts" studio is located in Iida, Nagano Prefecture, the artist's hometown.
Iida is well-known for its Mizuhiki string industry.
